INITIAL
IDEAS
Since i’ve played Zelda : Breath of the Wild, I’ve been really fond of koroks! Their design is so cute, whimsical, silly, yet so grounded in the forest, so remaking them really was a pleasure (with its challenges though!)
Koroks are fictional characters and intellectual property owned by Nintendo. All related names, designs, and trademarks belong to Nintendo.

BODY MODELING
PROCESS
I started with adding loop cuts to a cube, extruding its faces to create the arms and legs, then i subdivided the mesh and extruded it some more to make the ears/branches. The process was the same with all of the koroks bodies :)
BODY SHADING
BODY SHADING
I kept the shading quite simple with these nodes, allowing me full control over the korok’s stripes and colors.

MASK MODELING
PROCESS
For the masks, i started with a simple plane, that i cut in half to mirror it, then proceeded to add loop cuts, extrude edges, subdivide to soften up the corners, and kept moving vertices around until being satisfied :)
MASKS Shading, trials
and errors!
Initially, i tried to texture paint of the masks, turns out i didn’t really like the end result, i felt quite a lack of control over the texture, contrary to procedural shading. Ultimately, i just manually cut the parts of the masks, separated them from the main mesh, and shaded them individually.
